I have to admit I have always been a little skeptical when it came to social networking web sites and I have never really got into it until recently. I have started blogging on Twitter over the last few months and I am finding it is a fantastic little tool.

Just a quick post as I’m about to call it quits after a long day. There was a great program on 4 Corners on Monday night about the decline of the summer sea ice in the Arctic. I have to admit is was quite scary. If you didn’t get a chance to see it I recommend you try and get a copy.

I spoke today at a luncheon for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Sydney with Ben who came to the Pole with me in April and he and I are speaking tomorrow night for the Australian Israel Chamber of Commerce, then it’s a dash down to Mildura and then to Alice Springs early next week. The traveling continues.

Busy Times Ahead!!!

I remember when I got this site up and running I wanted to keep a detailed account of the busy and at times odd going on’s of my life. However my blog at times often gets a little neglected as other things take priority but over the next few months I am planning on rectifying this.

Again as always things have been quite busy over the last month I have had plenty of speaking jobs right across Australia including Sydney, Central Coast, Melbourne and Darwin. Last week I had a great mini tour where I got to speak to over 2500 kids out in the central west. In between all of this I have been busy with plans for the future and over the last few days I have made a pretty big decision that will equal a huge change in my life latter in the year, I won’t say to much more now as I still need to tell some pretty important people before I make things public.

I am speaking for a group of American students on Friday and then spending some time with them around Sydney before heading up the Barrier Reef to do some sailing with them. Then it’s back on the road speaking for another few weeks through Victoria, Alice Springs, Darwin and then down the coast of Western Australia. The frequent flyer miles are clocking up

I was asked into the Triple M radio studio in Sydney this morning to do an interview with Marty, Fifi and Paul from the Shebang breakfast show. I took one of their logo’s to the North Pole with me and they had me in to have a bit of a chat about the expedition. It was a fun morning and great meeting the guys. There is a photo on the Shebang web site of me at the pole with their logo.

I’m off in the morning to speak at the Step to the Future forum in Armidale and then on Saturday I’m off to Alice Springs and Airs Rock for a gig, so its busy busy as per usual.

I spoke at amazing gig on the weekend in the Hunter Valley for a major financial institution. I presented about my expeditions to the North Pole and then myself and the crew at Adrenalin spent the afternoon running activities based on my presentation at the Hunter Valley Gardens. It was amazing to see 240 people dragging sleds, jumping in and out of freezer trucks, laser target shooting and running around navigating with limited sight. We were blessed with a fantastic day and it was a great afternoon.

I’m off to speak at a government function tonight in Sydney and then down to Melbourne for another function early next week. It has been flat out since arriving home and unfortunately the North Pole is becoming a distant memory. It’s amazing how quickly you re -connect to the “real world” after an expedition but I suppose its just a part of life. I have had some meetings in regards to my next trip and I am back into the planning stage so hopefully ill be able to give everyone a hint in the not to distant future.

There really is nothing better then arriving home after a big trip and as I touched down on a wet Saturday morning in Sydney I have to admit I had a smile on my face. All and all the expedition was an amazing experience and one of the most challenging times I have had on the Arctic.

I had another brief stay in London on the way home and caught up with some friends and had some interesting meetings and there are some plans in place to get back over to the UK later in the year.

Now back in Sydney I have hit the ground running and am right back into the swing of things although I am still suffering a little from jet lag.

I have a few media opportunities over the next week and I will keep everyone posted on whats happening. I will also put up a new gallery of all my photo’s later this week so be sure to have a look.
